Power Generation Equipment Manufacturer and Services Provider: Acquisition Integration
Industry: Energy
Challenge
- The Client acquired three manufacturing and engineering services companies located throughout Western Europe. Two years after the initial acquisition integration, all manufacturing and product related work had been moved into the Client's operations while services related activities remained decentralized and fragmented, operating almost completely as separate entities
Approach
- Scope included an organizational architecture assessment; re-engineering business processes; the application of "Voice of the Customer" methodology to examine engineering operations and customer touch-points; developing timelines for headcount reduction and redundancy elimination; and consolidating engineering workflow and data from acquisition sites
Results
- Fully integrated and customer-facing operation with tangible client benefits including re-engineered business processes for $12M in productivity savings; the elimination of 28 direct employee redundancies through the implementation of centralized global resource centers
