Our facilitation teams ensure that all events are focused, subject matter experts are fully utilized, and all objectives are met in a timely manner. Transform’s facilitation expertise is focused on Change Management, WorkOuts, JAD Sessions, Strategic Planning, and Risk/Contingency Planning.
Change Management
Clients often utilize Transform to facilitate change in their organizations. Our team has successfully facilitated large change initiatives utilizing the Change Acceleration Process framework. Through the As-Is State, Transition, and Improvement, this method for change acceleration and management includes:
leading “At the Top”
creating a shared need;
shaping a vision for change;
gaining commitment;
operationalizing the change;
modifying systems and structures; and
WorkOuts
WorkOut is a Continuous Improvement tool designed to allow all stakeholders the ability to see and feel a connection between what he or she does all day, and ultimately, the effect of their actions to the entire organization. The objective of an individual facilitated WorkOut session is to define the “Critical To Quality” elements of a targeted process, to develop, refine, and prioritize solutions, and develop the business rules around the targeted process.
WorkOuts are completed in three phases and/or sessions: Planning, Action, and Follow-Up.
Additionally, WorkOuts must meet the following pre-requisites:
committed sponsor;
topic must have impact on key strategic and/or tactical objectives;
can be fixed by the participants themselves and in a reasonably short time frame (e.g. 90 days);
participants care about the topic;
supports the philosophy of Continuous Improvement (e.g. eliminate waste, make us faster, get people more involved); and
JAD Sessions
Joint Application Development Sessions bring users and stakeholders into the system development process as active participants. Transform utilizes this facilitation technique to define business requirements, form process improvement strategies with regards to systems, and identify key areas of opportunity for organizational improvement.
JAD Sessions are based on the following guiding principles:
operators of a process or job are the ones that best understand that process or job;
developers of systems have the best understanding of the technical possibilities of the technology;
business process and technology rarely exist in isolation; and
Strategic Planning
Transform helps clients align core processes, goals, objectives and cultures with overall strategy. In this area, our facilitation teams help clients establish annual operating rhythms for business reviews, compliance audits, long range planning, short range planning, organization and succession planning, and operating plans. Additionally, Transform helps clients understand the application of financial resources to the categories of utility and value spend (or operating and investment spend respectively).
Risk/Contingency Planning
Transform understands and has in-depth experience in risk management and contingency planning. Based on the COSO ERM (Committee of Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway Commission Enterprise Risk Management) framework, Transform facilitates identification, assessment, abatement, monitoring, control, and reporting of risk in the areas of:
aligning risk and strategy;
enhancing risk response decisions;
reducing operational risk;
identifying and managing multiple and cross-enterprise risks;
opportunity identification; and
improving deployment of capital.
